2020 was a year marred by the outbreak of the pandemic. Obliged by its mission and vision to do what it can for vulnerable communities, SAJIDA Foundation focused its service delivery on three facets: ensuring the availability of hospital services, spreading awareness and providing emergency, as well as long-term support to communities.
Throughout the pandemic, 26 districts were covered, and a total of 4,685,533 people were served. 1,021 COVID-19 patients were treated at SAJIDA’s Quarantine & Isolation Center in Narayanganj; 26,457 general patients were treated through SAJIDA’s hospital in Keraniganj, and 52,708 sets of Personal Protective Equipment were distributed. 57,331 people participated in Facebook Live mental health sessions. 291,188 individuals received food & hygiene packages and 1,790 farmers were given market linkage support to facilitate sustained livelihood opportunities. SAJIDA’s call center executives and field officers reached out to over 1.1 million people on the phone, disseminating key messages on hygiene, home quarantine, elderly care and potential high-risk factors.
