IMPROVING LIVING OF URBAN EXTREME POVERTY (ILUEP)
The Amrao Manush (We are People Too) project commenced in 2008 with funding from Concern Worldwide, Irish Aid, and Team Broken Earth. Established with the objective of improving the lives of pavement dwellers Amrao Manush has since expanded to working with populations living in squatter settlements.
ILUEP provides critical support services typically missing in extreme urban poor contexts. These include much-needed day care and early childhood development centres with a focus on group learning and extra-curricular activities; psychosocial counselling and referrals for parents, caretakers, and children; access to bank accounts and savings schemes; microbusiness support; employability training, and access to basic community health services.
