Nurunnahar Akhter is a Shasthya Bondhu at the SAJIDA Foundation, stationed at the SUDIN Tongi community. Besides working at SUDIN, she is also pursuing her studies.
Her role at SUDIN involves conducting house visits within the community to monitor health issues and offer general medical consultations. Where there are severe ailments, she ensures proper referrals to SAJIDA's professional doctors and remains engaged with patients until their recovery.
Reflecting on her experience, Nurunnahar stated, “I am learning something new every day in this role. My mentors guide me on how to care for the community, and I genuinely enjoy working here. It brings me joy to know that my actions are making a positive impact on someone's life.” She emphasised on the immeasurable love and respect she receives from the community which further motivates her to ensure their well-being.
A committed health worker, Nurunnahar is supported wholeheartedly by her family. Now a self-reliant woman from Tongi with ambitious dreams, envisions contributing significantly to the health sector of Bangladesh. Thus, continuing her journey of aiding others for a better future.
