Emergency Response
"Kajol had been very active during the student movement from the very beginning. When everyone was leaving for the long March, seeing Kajol's restlessness, I myself had said, 'You can go, Kajol, if you want.' But I never imagined that I would ever receive a phone call saying, 'Kajol has been shot in the head!'" Kajol's wife spoke these words with a trembling voice.
Kajol was very popular among his friends and neighbors. Most people knew him as a student of English Department-44 at Jahangirnagar University. He was also quite popular as the captain of the cricket team in the area and the university.
On August 5th, around 12:30 PM, while walking with some of his acquaintances from Narayanganj to Jatrabari, Kajol was shot in the head. Since then, with his brain nerves paralyzed, he has been fighting for his life in the ICU for 33 days! His wife and family are counting the days with only one hope - when he will return to his normal state and talk to them as before. The boys from the neighborhood often come to inquire, perhaps they too want to know when Kajol can return to play in the cricket team he himself created and regain his active life.
Many others like Kajol have been injured in this movement and are fighting for their lives. SAJIDA Foundation is steadfast in its support for these people. For more information, please visit: Click Here.
