Last week, SAJIDA Foundation's WASH4UP (Phase II) Project hosted a workshop on ‘Solid Waste Management’ at the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), focusing on the health risks faced by waste workers. The event—attended by key officials and special guests from SAJIDA Foundation and WaterAid Bangladesh—brought together STS sardars and conservancy inspectors to discuss their challenges and propose solutions. Esteemed guests included Md. Mizanur Rahman, CEO of DSCC, as well as representatives from SAJIDA Foundation, Md. Fazlul Haque, Deputy CEO, and Shafiqul Islam, Deputy General Manager. Their participation emphasised SAJIDA Foundation's commitment to improving the welfare of marginalised communities.

In addition to supporting waste workers, mental health support initiatives are being explored to help workers manage the emotional demands of their roles. This workshop served as a vital platform for collaboration and feedback, aiming to elevate the safety and dignity of waste management workers in Dhaka.
