SAJIDA Foundation and Khan Academy Bangladesh (KAB) hosted an orientation programme to launch KAB’s Research Programme on 25 January 2025. The initiative aims to assess the impact of the Khan Academy Bangla platform on Grade 6 maths learning outcomes. The study will focus on 4 districts in the Dhaka Division. Funded by SAJIDA Foundation, Khan Academy Bangladesh is serving as the knowledge partner for this initiative. The event brought together key education stakeholders, including headteachers, education officers, and Ministry of Education representatives, to explore the transformative potential of digital learning tools. Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Director General (In Charge) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), attended as Chief Guest, alongside Special Guest Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel. Khan Academy Founder Sal Khan shared his virtual wishes for Khan Academy Bangladesh. He was excited to see that Khan Academy’s mission — to provide a free, high-quality education to anyone, anywhere in the world — is being implemented through its activities in Bangladesh. SAJIDA Foundation CEO, Zahida Fizza Kabir emphasised the initiative’s potential to improve secondary education and called for collaboration to ensure its success.

Following the event, a workshop was held which provided the opportunity for teachers to discuss strategies for integrating the Khan Academy Bangla platform into their respective schools. Stakeholders agreed that the programme’s success relies on collective efforts to deliver personalised, data-driven, and inclusive education in learning maths for secondary students across Bangladesh.
