Disaster Response

May 29, 2024

In the village of Charpotka in Bhola, Minara Begum, a widow, is struggling to provide for her three children after losing their home to cyclone Remal. With their shelter gone, Minara and her three children sought refuge with relatives, their future uncertain. Now, Minara seeks assistance to restore her family's sense of security and stability.

SAJIDA Foundation has been actively engaged in disaster response efforts, from preparedness to recovery. We conducted rapid needs assessments among those affected by Cyclone Remal in Bhola for data collection. This data will be used by PLAN International Bangladesh and the Needs Assessment Working Group (NAWG) to devise post-disaster response plans and activities.

Together, we are striving to not just rebuilding a house, but also restoring hope for Minara and her children.
