Disaster Response
SAJIDA Foundation successfully conducted a medical camp to support animals affected by flooding in the Cumilla, Feni, Noakhali and Lakshmipur regions. The camp, held in collaboration with Obhoyaronno - Bangladesh Animal Welfare Foundation, began on September 11, 2024. The veterinary camp provided care for 27,737 animals, including cows, buffalos, goats, dogs, pigeons, chickens, ducks, rabbits and parrots.
Obhoyaronno's team of veterinarians provided primary medical care, medications, and additional support to local residents, including SAJIDA's Microfinance Members. SAJIDA's own members also participated in the camp to assist with animal care. To address the nutritional needs of livestock in the flood-affected areas, SAJIDA distributed 33,750 kg of cattle feed (25 kg per bag) and 5,400 salines to 1,350 members. This ensured that their animals had access to the necessary food during this challenging time.
