SAJIDA Foundation, with financial and technical support from Plan International Bangladesh, has been implementing the project “Empower Girls Through Education and Skills” in Dhaka South City Corporation since June 2023. This initiative addresses critical issues such as preventing child marriage, protecting children, promoting education, improving water and sanitation facilities, establishing safe bathing spaces, and distributing educational materials in low-income areas and selected schools in Dhaka.

As part of this initiative, an awareness campaign was held on December 29, 2024, at the Dhaka Mass Colony to prevent violence against women and child marriage. The campaign included a rally, sports, and art competitions for adolescents, wall art activities, discussion sessions, and cultural performances— fostering community engagement and awareness.

Distinguished guests included Mohammad Mobassher Hasan, Chief Social Welfare and Slum Development Officer, and Md. Fazlul Haque, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, SAJIDA Foundation. Senior representatives from SAJIDA Foundation and Plan International Bangladesh, along with local dignitaries, also attended the event.

The project is currently being implemented across five low-income areas in Dhaka South City Corporation—Shyampur, Wari, Bangshal, Dhalpur, and Khilgaon—as well as in seven schools within these communities.

SAJIDA Foundation, founded in 1993, is a value-driven NGO operating across 36 districts in Bangladesh. Its diverse portfolio encompasses development programmes, financial services, and strategic healthcare enterprises.
