The Asia Gender Network (AGN) Day - A Women Economic Empowerment Gathering, hosted by AVPN in partnership with ROTANA Hotels and the Abu Dhabi Office of Development Affairs was held on 22 April 2024. This exclusive event, curated for AGN members, fostered conversations and knowledge-sharing on women's economic empowerment in Asia. Esteemed attendees, including our CEO and Member of Asia Gender Network (AGN), Zahida Fizza Kabir, along with the SAJIDA team attending the AVPN Global Conference, engaged in insightful discussions throughout the day, led by industry leaders like Naina Subberwal Batra, CEO of AVPN, and Shaikha Al Nowais, Vice President of ROTANA Hotel Management Corporation PJSC. The impactful sessions, included a morning site visit to Al Ghadeer Emirati crafts, where AGN members and guests had the opportunity to interact with local women artisans, immersing themselves in the rich arts and crafts traditions of the UAE, followed by an afternoon session, moderated by Rena Greifinger, featured inspiring talks from Vidya Shah and HE Shaikha Al Nowais, and talked about breaking barriers and the journeys of pioneering women leaders across Asia, and an evening dinner offered an exclusive opportunity to network and advocate for women's empowerment in Asia.
